Mumford examines  Nebuchadnezzar's dream of a tree found in Daniel 4 and explores several biblical "tree" texts:  Genesis 1-3, Psalm 1 and 96, Ezekiel 17:24, Luke 13:6-9, John 1: 43-49. From Genesis 1 to Revelation trees are important metaphors, and here Mumford connects a specific tree to the self.
